Steelhead are still here

February 5, 2013

The Steelhead fishing on the Trinity is still going strong. We are catching a mix of Steelhead and brown’s, swinging nymph’s, and using dry flies in the afternoons when the hatches come off (which is a real bonus.) There is also a real nice late push of fresh fish coming through with a mix of spawned fish mixed in. The fishing should remain strong until the juvenile fish being released today overtake the river. It will probably take a couple of weeks, at that time it would be a great time to introduce a beginner to fly fishing with a guarantee of catching a fish.
Her are a couple current shots.
